TL;DR: Don't use SALT for illegal activity. We provide the tool — you're responsible for how you use it. We can't read your messages, and we don't want to.
By accessing or using SALT ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
SALT is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application. Encrypted segments are encrypted on your device using NaCl cryptography (Curve25519 + XSalsa20-Poly1305). We cannot read, access, or decrypt your messages. The Service includes features such as Panic Mode, Decoy Mode, Privacy Toggle, Dead Man's Switch, and Anti-Blocking technology.
You must be at least 16 years old to use SALT. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is currently invite-only — you need a valid invite code to register.
You agree not to use SALT to:
We believe in privacy as a fundamental right. We built SALT to protect legitimate private communication — not to enable harm.
Your privacy is our architecture, not just a feature. For full details on what data we collect (minimal) and what we don't (your messages), see our Privacy Policy.
SALT, its logo, design, and technology are owned by SALT. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the application without written permission. Your content remains yours — we claim no ownership over messages or files you send through the Service.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time. The Anti-Blocking system is designed to maintain connectivity, but we cannot guarantee access in all jurisdictions.
SALT is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your encryption keys are deleted and any remaining data is purged. This is irreversible.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SALT operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
